In preparation for the UXPA Conference in London next week, Elizabeth Allen and Kathi Kaiser are bringing their talks to Chicago for an exciting sneak peak at a UXPA Preview Night event organized by Chicago Women of Design & UX (chiDUXX). This event will be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 6PM at ÄKTA in downtown Chicago.

Test your own usability morals with Kathi Kaiser as she warms up the crowd with a preview of her IGNITE session from the UXPA panel, "Are you a Super Hero or a Super Villain? Using Design Psychology for Good (and Evil)". Design is a powerful tool, especially when driven by an understanding of the human brain. Designers can highlight, prioritize and streamline, but they can also conceal, manipulate and deceive. In short, design can be used for good... or for evil!

In her UXPA talk, "Red Herrings: Debunking the Pop Psychology of Color", Elizabeth Allen will explore how color perception can have an enormous impact on user experience. Using scientific research and fun visual demos, Elizabeth will expose opportunities for designers to use color effectively to convey meaning, incite emotion, attract users’ attention, and provide accessible experiences.

Also speaking will be User Experience professional Kamaria Campbell with a preview of her IGNITE session from the UXPA panel 'Future of UX'.  Kamaria will be getting attendees revved up to dream about the possible, the likely, and the probable future of UX Design - and how to be a part of making these dreams a reality.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic evening of learning, discussion, and mingling with our UXer friends chiDUXX, Chicago’s only women-centered UX meetup!
