Centralis’ Elizabeth Benker joins adjunct faculty at DePaul University
January 9, 2012: Elizabeth Benker, User Experience Director at Centralis, has joined the adjunct faculty of DePaul University’s College of Computing and Digital Media. This winter she will be teaching Introduction to Human-Computer Interaction, the foundational course for the school’s well-respected graduate program in Human-Computer Interaction.
Drawing on her extensive experience with user research and user-centered design, Elizabeth will present a survey of the various components of human-computer interaction and their application to real-world design and development problems. Elizabeth’s students will draw upon theoretical principles, observations and self-reflection as they practice methods for designing interactive systems to improve their usability.
Elizabeth joined Centralis after working as an Information Architect in the financial services and insurance industries. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and a Master of Science in Human-Computer Interaction from DePaul University. She speaks and publishes on issues of user-centered design, most recently as a presenter to the Usability Professionals' Association.
