Centralis’ Elizabeth Benker and Jennifer Canady to lead tutorial at UPA 2011
March 9, 2011: The Usability Professionals’ Association (UPA) has invited Elizabeth Benker and Jennifer Canady to lead a tutorial at the 2011 UPA annual conference, one of the premiere conferences in the user experience field.
The tutorial, entitled Diagnostic Usability Testing 101: Uncovering the “Why” Behind User Actions, will teach conference participants how to execute key components of a diagnostic usability test. Attendees will leave the session understanding diagnostic usability testing and its importance in product design and development.
Elizabeth and Jennifer were inspired to develop the material for their tutorial from their work conducting usability tests. In addition to identifying issues, diagnostic usability testing uncovers why users are having problems and makes it easier to recommend effective solutions. The tutorial will provide attendees with hands-on exposure to key elements of planning, conducting and analyzing a usability test to uncover those “whys”.
