Centralis partners with Germany’s User Interface Design to put usability on the map
October 25, 2008: In an initiative sponsored by a global provider of map data, Centralis is working with UID to understand how users think about different types of map errors. Later this month, Centralis and UID will visit homes throughout Munich to examine how users classify different types of navigation mistakes, such as wrong addresses, missing landmarks and incorrect pronunciation of street names, using in-content interviews, card sorting and prototype exploration.
By enlisting users as a source of data about roads, Centralis is helping to create more accurate directions and a more effective user experience. Results from the study will be used to improve web-based interfaces and explore alternative methods for reporting map errors.
