User Experience Specialist

Centralis has an immediate opening for a contract-to-hire or permanent User Experience Specialist.  We believe the best designers are tenacious researchers, and the best researchers are savvy designers. As a member of our team you'll have the opportunity to: 

• Work directly with users to improve our clients' websites, mobile apps and software
• Participate in research and design initiatives for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, across a wide variety of industries
• Facilitate usability test sessions
• Collaborate with team members to develop, analyze and document information architectures, process flows, navigation systems and wireframes
• Contribute to planning and conducting ethnographic research
• Serve in a client-facing role
• Contribute to and learn from a team of professionals who have a great time doing great work
• Grow into a leadership role

What We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Psychology, Design, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• Previous corporate and/or consulting experience
• Practical knowledge of the principles and techniques of user-centered design
• Prior experience with usability test planning, moderation and analysis desirable
• Excellent communication, analytical and creative thinking skills
• Ability to flexibly handle multiple projects and initiatives
• Commitment to teamwork, learning and quality improvement
• Willingness to travel (approximately 20%, short term team travel only)
